What We Did Today: Round #1
To Your Lawn:- Warm Season lawns (Bermuda and/or Zoysia Turf) received a granular application which consisted of the first application of Pre-emergent herbicide and a backpack post-emergent to control any grassy or broadleaf weeds that may have germinated. The pre-emergent herbicide is on a fertilizer carrier that will aid in root development when the plant begins to grow. Products will work best if watered in within 10-14 days.
- Cool Season lawns (Fescue) received a granular application which consisted of the first application of Pre-emergent herbicide and a backpack post-emergent to control any grassy or broadleaf weeds that may have germinated. The pre-emergent herbicide is on a fertilizer carrier that will aid in plant growth and root development when the plant begins to grow. Products will work best if watered in within 10-14 days.
To Your Tree & Shrubs (If you are a Tree & Shrub Customer)- Tree & Shrub customers received a pre-emergent herbicide that will aid in weed suppression in the beds as well as a slow release nitrogen product with micro nutrients.
What you need to do until our next visit- You will not need to do anything to your lawn until the temperatures warm up some. When the temperatures begin to warm up in late February/early March you will lower your warm season turf and begin mowing your Fescue once it begins to grow again.
- You will want to make sure that your heavy or rejuvenation pruning is complete in the next month. This includes making sure your Crape Myrtles have been pruned and an heavy pruning you may want to do to get any shrubs back in check. The plants are dormant right now and it is the best time to perform any heavy pruning.
